About Pratibha Patil
Patil is a renowned political figure who is amongst few women to attain the peak of politics in India. She occupied the office of the 9th Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha between 1985 and 1988. She initially began her career as a practicing lawyer following her exit from the university. She soon began climbing her later-successful political career in 1962 when she got elected into the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly at the age of 27. She later made her way to the gubernatorial office in 2004, when she served as the 17th Governor of Rajasthan until 2007. She made history in 2007 with her emergence as India's first female President, making her the country's 12th President. Aside from politics, she is also known to be a businesswoman and has invested in the finance and real estate sectors.

Her father is Narayan Rao Patil. Her brother is G. N. Patil. She got married to Devisingh Ransingh Shekhawat in 1965. Her children are Jyoti and Rajendra Shekhawat.
Achievements
She received the Special Category Sash (Banda en Categoría Especial) of the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle in 2018.
She was awarded with the Glamour Award The Chosen Ones in 2010.
