About Pope Pius VIII
Pope Pius VIII was the head of the Catholic Church who also ruled the Papal States during his tenure (March 31, 1829 – November 30, 1830) as the Pope. His term is recognized as the 19th century’s shortest pontificate hence there is the likelihood of him being the least-remembered Pope as well.
During his papacy, he wrote about marriages between members of the Catholic Church and Protestants, ruling that the Catholics entering such marriages should ensure that the children produced are raised Catholic as well.

He died at 69 years old on November 30, 1830.
