Early Life
Born in Tczew, Poland, home and his family moved to Hamburg when he was just five years old.
Football Career
In 1999, he joined Bayern Munich and eventually advanced to the amateur team. He signed with Hamburger SV in 2005 and after some impressive playoffs moved up into the starting line-up of the team and netted 5 goals against Bayern Munich.
While with Sevilla in 2012, he kicked a half-volley and in a little over a minute, scored a 1-0 against the La Liga champions, Real Madrid.
He played for FC Augsburg from July 2015 and showed up on the pitch a few times as a result of injuries. In 2008, he netted his first goal for Germany in the 2010 World Cup Qualifier against the Wales national team.
Accolade
He was part of the German squad that took third place in the 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa.
