Pete Tong started his DJ career right after graduating from school. At the age of 15 years, he made his first public show during one of his friend’s wedding ceremony. He later established a disco in a van before coming up with a bar called Family Function.
His rise to stardom started in the 1970s when he appeared on the pirate radio network called Radio Invicta. The English is best known for his time with BBC Radio 1 where he’s mostly heard on shows like “Essential Selection” and “Essential Mix”.

He’s originally named Peter Michael Tong. He has been married to Carolina Acosta since 2006. He has a daughter called Becky Tong who also works as a DJ.

He’s a product of King's School in Rochester.
Achievements
In 2014, he was made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
