About Peggy Cass
Peggy Cass began her career as a stage performer. In 1949, the American actress earned her first Broadway gig which was in the play titled “Touch and Go”. Nine years later, she made her film debut when she appeared as Emily Bundy in “The Marrying Kind”.
During her career, which spanned for over four decades, Cass appeared in many films and TV shows but was best known for her performance as Agnes Gooch in “Auntie Mame”, a film which was released in 1958.
Personal Life
She was raised by Margaret and Raymond James Cass, alongside a brother named Jerry. The actress was married twice. Her first to Carl Fisher ended in 1965. Until her death, she was the wife of Eugene Feeney.
Education
She graduated from Cambridge Latin School before enrolling at HB Studio for her acting training.
Achievements
In 1957, Cass won both the Theatre World Award, and the Tony Award. The following year, she was shortlisted for the Academy Award, and the Golden Globe Award.
Trivia
She was a regular face on the panel show “To Tell the Truth”.
Cass starred in Garson Kanin’s 1946 play titled “Born Yesterday”.
