About Paul Revere
Paul Revere was an American silversmith, engraver and Patriot during the American Revolutionary War best known for his legendary midnight ride on April 18, 1775 to warn the Colonial militia about the approach of the British forces prior to the battles of Lexington and Concord. His famous ride was later dramatized in the poem Paul Reverse's Ride written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Family Life
He was married to Sarah Orne from 1757 until her death in 1773. He had eight children with her. He married his second wife Rachel Walker in 1773 and fathered 8 children with her. He remained married to her until her death in 1813.
Trivia
After the war, he went back to his silversmith business and became the first American to smelt copper ore and successfully roll it into copper sheets.
