A Stanley World Champion and an 18-year veteran of the NHL (National Hockey League), Patrice Brisebois played with the Montreal Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche. As of 2021, the Canadian former ice hockey player is ranked third all-time in games played for the Canadiens as a defenseman.
Early Career
This Canadian-native was picked by the Montreal Canadiens in the second round of the 1989 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He was awarded the Emile Bouchard Trophy in the 1991 season for being the best defenseman in Junior Hockey League. He was also named into the Quebec Junior Hockey League All-Star team.
Career Highlights
Brisebois won the Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens in 1992. He had 14 seasons with Montreal before he was let go as a free agent. Measuring at 6’2”, the ice hockey player then signed a two-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche and went on to have an impressive 38 points in the 2005 season. Brisebois retired after playing his 1000th Career NHL game for the Montreal Canadiens in 2009. He was honored with the Jean-Béliveau Trophy.
Brisebois was hired in 2012 as Director of Player Development but resigned two years later.
