About Oral Roberts
He was a very popular Charismatic televangelist who started working as a faith healer. He decided he wanted to organize revivals but during that time, Robert E. “Daddy” Lee proposed to him that he could get him to become a pastor of a small church to which he accepted after a bit of hesitation and praying. By the time he was thirty, his fellowship had grown and he was gaining popularity all through the United States. Many pastors called on him to be a guest speaker at their events.
Personal Life
Granville Oral Roberts was one of five children his parents birthed. He was the youngest of his siblings and his father was a Reverend. The family was not well to do and during his teenage years, he suffered an episode of tuberculosis that almost claimed his life. He went through Oklahoma Baptist University then Phillips University.
When he was ready for marriage, he made Evelyn Lutman Fahnestock his life partner for over sixty years till she had a fall which claimed her life. Ronald Roberts who was his son committed suicide six months after announcing he was gay and Rebecca Nash who was also his daughter died from a plane crash together with her husband.
