About Oliver Reed
Famously known for his Proximo role in the 2000 movie titled “Gladiator”, Oliver Reed’s memories to many movie lovers can be said to be a lasting one. The English actor appeared in over one hundred television movies and series throughout his career which included “The Three Musketeers”, “Hannibal Brooks” and “Castaway”.
Family
His dad, Peter Reed, worked mostly as a journalist. His mother was called Marcia (née Napier-Andrews). His grandfather was Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree, and he’s the nephew of Sir Carol Reed. Until his death, he was married to Josephine Burge. He left behind two children namely Sarah and Mark.
Achievements
In 2000, he earned a nomination for the “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” accolade at the BAFTA Award.
Trivia
He suffered from a heart attack, which later caused his death.
