About Nouri al-Maliki
Nouri al-Maliki is a politician from Iraq. From 2006-2014, he served as the Prime Minister of his homeland. He was also the Vice-president of Iraq for three years starting from 2014.
Al-Maliki has also been the secretary-general of the Islamic Dawa Party. He became famous after he was able to escape a death sentence in 1979.
During his second term as a prime minister, he was at the same time occupying the positions of acting National Security Minister, acting Defense Minister, and acting Interior Minister. In 2003, he was the deputy leader of the Iraqi Interim Government. In 2005, he was appointed to the National Assembly of the Republic of Iraq.

He studied at the Usul al-Din College and the University of Salahaddin.

He got married to Faleeha Khalil. He has five children including Esraa al-Maliki, Hawra al-Maliki, and Ahmed al-Maliki.
