Norman Rockwell was an American painter and illustrator active in the 1900s.
His Work
Norman Rockwell's first known work was for St. Nicholas Magazine and Boys' Life. He continued to provide art for Boys' Life off and on throughout his life. Rockwell is perhaps best known for his paintings on many covers of The Saturday Evening Post. When World War II came around, he painted the famous Four Freedoms series that was inspired by a Franklin D. Roosevelt speech. Other works by Norman Rockwell include the Willie Gillis series, Rosie the Riveter, The Problem We All Live With, and Saying Grace.
