About Nigel McGuinness
Nigel McGuinness began his wrestling training in 1998 but made his professional debut the following year under the now-defunct Heartland Wrestling Association. After five years with the promotion, the British wrestler joined Ring of Honor (ROH) where he would record most of his successes.
In 2005, he won the ROH Pure Championship and held the title for 350 days, becoming the longest-serving champion. After a number of impressive displays, he became the ROH World Champion in 2007. He also wrestled under the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling promotion from 2009 to 2011 where he was known as Desmond Wolfe.
Post retirement
After announcing his retirement from in-ring wrestling in 2011, McGuinness was hired by ROH to work as one of their color commentators. He moved to the WWE in 2016 where he gave commentary on NXT UK and NXT events.

His original name is Steven Haworth. He attended Kent State University and the University of Leicester.
Achievements
In 2009, the Pro Wrestling Illustrated named him at number six on their “top 500 singles wrestlers” list. Two year before that, he won the King of Europe Cup.
