About Nico
Nico was a German singer-songwriter, composer, actress and model who first gained stardom in the 1960s as a Warhol superstar. She is also remembered for her successful collaboration with the Velvet Underground on the 1967 album The Velvet Underground & Nico as well as for starring in a number of films, including the 1960 comedy-drama film La Dolce Vita.
Personal Life
She had an affair with French-Swiss actor Alain Delon and bore him a child named Christian Aaron Boulogne in 1962. Christian grew up to become a professional photographer and actor.
Trivia
At the age of 15 years old, while working for the U.S. Air Force, she was sexually assaulted by an American sergeant.
According to her friends, she was a racist.
She battled a severe addiction to heroine for over a decade.
On July 18th 1988, she suffered a heart attack while riding her bicycle and died hours later. She was 49.
