About Natina Reed
Singer-songwriter, rapper and actress Natina Tiawana Reed was hired by the late TLC rapper Lisa Lopes in 1996 to write songs for the group after the latter’s brother scouted her. A year later, Reed and two others became the members of the girl group, Blaque, which was created by Lopes. Through Blaque, she became known for songs such as “Bring It All to Me”, “I Do” and “808”.
She made her debut as an actress in the popular teen cheerleading film, “Bring It On” as Jenelope.
Family Life
She was the daughter of Tamara Goodridge and Paul Reed. From the age of four, she was brought up in Atlanta, Georgia. She had three siblings: Michael, Genni and Niesha. Her cousin is former Destiny’s Child member, Farrah Franklin. She had a son named Trent (born 2002) with rapper Kurupt.
Achievements
The Blaque single, “Bring It All to Me” won the Billboard Video Award for “Best New Artist – R&B”.
Death
She passed away on October 26, 2012, from injuries sustained when she got hit by a car.
