About Moses Malone
Moses Malone started out in professional basketball with the now-defunct American Basketball Association (ABA)’s Utah Stars team, which chose him in the ABA draft of 1974, right out of high school.
His two decade-career also includes 18 years in the National Basketball Association during which he excelled with the following teams: Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks.
He also had stints with the Buffalo Braves, Milwaukee Bucks and San Antonio Spurs.
Family Life
He grew up under the care of his mother after she made his alcoholic father get out of their lives. He was raised in Petersburg, Virginia.
He was the father of two sons with his ex-wife, Alfreda Gill. He also had another son with his girlfriend, Leah Nash.
Achievements
He was named in the All-Time Team of the ABA. He played in 12 All-Star games and was named the 1983 NBA Finals MVP.
Death
He died on 13 September 2015 in his sleep, aged 60.
