About Morten Harket
Morten Harket is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, musician and actor. He became a household name through his membership of the Norwegian synth-pop band, a-ha. He co-founded the band with keyboardist Magne Furuholmen and guitarist Paul Waaktaar in 1982 and have been together since, except when they disbanded from 2010 to 2015. They shot to fame internationally with the single “Take on Me”, released in 1985. He has also pursued a solo career, which has produced six albums.
Family Life
He was brought up alongside four siblings in Asker, Norway. His mother, Henny, was an economics teacher and his father, Reidar, was a physician.
From 1989 to 1998, he was married to Camilla Malmquist Harket, with whom he had his first three children. He has two more children from his subsequent partners.
Achievements
As a solo artist, he has won awards such as the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav, the Spellemannprisen and a Clean Tech Media Award.
Trivia
He hosted the 1996 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
