About Miroslav Barnyashev (Miro or Rusev)
Bulgarian professional wrestling star Miroslav Barnyashev, who is also known by such ring names as Miro and Rusev, made his debut in the profession in November of 2008.
Barnyashev signed with the WWE in the year 2010 and by so doing he became the first Bulgarian to ever wrestle for the WWE. During his time at WWE, he was known by the ring name, Rusev.
He joined All Elite Wrestling in September of 2020, after being released by the WWE in April that year.
Aside from wrestling, the Bulgarian star is also noted for being active on the online live video streaming platform, Twitch – there, he is known by his “MIROtwch” username.
He is an active YouTube user, who is noted for his ToBeMiroTV, which has a support base of over 160k people.
He is also known on other social media platforms including Instagram, where he has built a support base that is in excess of 1.2 million followers. His Twitter account is also flooded with more than 780k fans.
Family
In July of 2016, Barnyashev tied the knot with fellow wrestler and actress, Catherine Perry, who is commonly known by stage names such Lana or CJ Perry.
Achievements
While working at the WWE, Barnyashev won a number of key championships. For example, he won the “WWE United States Championship” on three occasions. He was also honored with the “Slammy Awards”.
In 2014, wrestling magazine, Pro Wrestling Illustrated named him as the “Most Improved Wrestler of the Year”. The following year, he was ranked at #8 on the magazine’s list of top 500 singles wrestlers.
Facts
He was educated in a sports school and took part in sporting activities such as sambo and powerlifting.
In September of 2019, he naturalized and became a citizen of the United States.
