Career Highlights
He was a pioneering figure in the Brazilian music artists movement Clube da Esquina. His composition “Canção do Sal” was featured on TV by singer Elis Regina. Other works of his include “Travessia,” “Maria, Maria” and “Bailes da Vida.” As his popularity soared so did his collaborations with other artists increase; he has collaborated with Sarah Vaughan, Mercedes Sosa and Paul Simon.
Recognition
In 2016, he was awarded the honorary doctorate of music by the Berklee College of Music.
