Mike is an American sportsman who made a mark in football as a coach who guided great teams to success.
Personal Life
His name is Michael Edward Shanahan and was a student of East Leyden High School. While there, he actively was involved in sports and played for the football team while making an impact on them. He then moved on to Eastern Illinois University where he played as a quarterback though that nearly cost him his life, he was hit and his heart stopped beating for about thirty seconds. This hit stopped him from playing but he became a coach after.
Career
He started his coaching career as an offensive assistant for Oklahoma Sooners team in 1975 then the following year, he worked for Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks as an assistant Coach. In 1978, he was employed by Eastern Illinois Panthers team as an Offensive coordinator before moving to the Florida Gators as an offensive coordinator. He went on to work for more than five more teams.
