About Mike Scioscia
Mike Scioscia is a retired American baseball player who spent over a decade in the MLB. Throughout his time in the league, he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers where he won two World Series titles. Later in his career, he joined the Texas Rangers and then the San Diego Padres but due to injuries, he couldn’t appear for the teams in the MLB.
Post playing career
This baseball legend shifted his attention to coaching after ending his playing career. He was placed in charge of his former team from 1997 to 1998. He has recorded most of his successes as a manager. In 2000, he joined the Los Angeles Angels and helped them to win the World Series two years later.
Private Life
He has been married to a lady called Anne. They have a son named Matthew, who’s also known to be a baseball player.
Education
He studied computer science at Penn State University.
Trivia
Until 2018, he was the second-longest-serving coach or manager in America’s "Big Four" sporting leagues (i.e. MLB, NBA, NFL and the NHL).
He became one of the few managers to record over 1,000 wins in the league in 2011.
