About Mike Modano
Mike Modano is regarded as one of the all-time greatest Americans to have ever played professional ice hockey. He made his NHL debut in 1989, the year following his first overall draft selection by the Minnesota North Stars. He played for the team, which eventually moved to Dallas, Texas in 1993 and became known as the Dallas Stars, until 2010. He retired after playing for one final season in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings, which is located in his home state.
Family Life
He was one of three children born to Karen and Mike Modano Sr. He was raised in Highland Township, Michigan. He was married to singer-songwriter Willa Ford from 2007 to 2012. In 2013, he married Allison Micheletti, a professional golfer. They have four children together.
Achievements
He was honored as an inductee in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014. He was also included in the 100 Greatest Players list by the National Hockey League in 2017.
Trivia
He founded the Mike Modano Foundation, Inc., for which he has served as vice president.
