About Mike Jones
Michael Allen Jones is a rapper, songwriter, actor and entrepreneur. He started performing under the pseudonym Sache as a member of a group known as Souf Folk. He went solo in 2001 and garnered national attention in 2004 after he came out with his single, “Still Tippin’”. The following year, he debuted as an actor through his portrayal of Darius Morgan in the television drama series, “Prison Break”. His other well-known songs include “Back Then”, “Next to You” and “Drop & Gimme 50”.
Personal Life
He dropped out of high school and took up fast food restaurant jobs to make ends meet. He has given credit to his grandmother for encouraging him to be a rapper. His son is identified as Malachi.
Accomplishments
“Still Tippin’” and “Back Then” have received platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America.
Collaborations
Jones collaborated with legendary rapper, Snoop Dogg on his 2007 single titled, “My 64” – the song also featured rapper, Bun B.
Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy
He founded “House of Dobbe” a wine company. He is also known for his philanthropic projects, which have included the charities American Dream Foundation and Ice Age for Kids.
