Family
He was born to Vesa and Minna Granlund and had one sibling, Markus Granlund.
Career
In 2007, Granlund made his debut in his junior career with Oulun Kärpät, where he distinguished himself very well during the two years that he spent with the team. In 2009, he transferred to HIFK Helsinki.
In 2011, he was voted Finland's Young Athlete of the year. He later played professionally with the Minnesota Wild in 2010 after being selected ninth overall in the draft. He then signed on with Nashville Predators in the 2018 to 2019 season and renewed his contract for another four years in 2021.
Notable Honors and Accomplishments
He was part of the Finnish side that won gold at the World Junior Championship in Canada in 2012.
At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, he took home a bronze medal
He won gold medals at the 2011 and 2022 IIHF World Championships held in Slovakia and Finland, respectively

Granlund married Emmi Granlund in 2019.
