Mika Nakashima is a singer from Japan who also doubles as an actress. Her first appearance on screen as an actress was in 2001 in the film titled “Kizudarake no Love Song”.
Career
In 2005, she made her professional movie debut in the film “Nana”. Other movies and dramas she had been featured in include “Resident Evil: Afterlife” in 2010, “Resident Evil: Retribution” in 2012, “Shiritsu Tantei Hama Mike” in 2002 and “Omotesandô Kôkô Gasshôbu!” in 2015.
Nakashima started singing in 2001 when she was signed by Sony Music Associated Records. That same year, she released her first single. The following year, she released her debut album titled “True”. Nakashima has released several singles and albums such as “Crescent Moon”, “One Survive”, “Helpless Rain”, “Love” and “The End”. Nakashima has also released three live albums including “Official Bootleg Live at Shinjuku Loft” and “MTV Unplugged” since 2016.She also recorded a number of compilation albums such as “Best” and “No More Rules”.
Family
She got married to Kunihiro Shimizu in 2014 but divorced him after four years of marriage.
Awards
She was the recipient of the “New Artist of the Year” award at the 2002 Japan Gold Disc Awards. She also won “Best New Artist of the Year” at the 2002 All Japan Request Awards. That same year, she was honored by the 44th Japan Record Awards with the “New Artist of the Year” award. Also, in 2003, she won the “Best Album Award” from the Japan Composers Association.
