In his first Major League Soccer (MLS) season, while playing for Atlanta United, he registered nine goals and 14 assists, earning the title of MLS Newcomer of the Year. Miguel Almiron has an impressive resume, including being included in 2017’s MLS All-Star.
Early Life
He was born into a poor household in Asuncion, Paraguay, where his mother worked as a grocery clerk and his father was a small town security guard.
Career
He came to Cerro Porteno after being rejected from Club Nacional for being too thin. He joined Club Atlético Lanus in August 2015 and signed with the MLS franchise Atlanta United a year later.
He joined Newcastle United in 2019 for a then-MLS player record transfer fee of almost £21 million after 62 appearances and 21 goals for Atlanta.
On the international scene, he made his senior international debut in 2015, in 3-2 Paraguay‘s friendly loss to Chile.
Personal Life
In 2016, he wed Alexia Notto.
