About Michael Yardy
Despite Yardy's different style of play, he rose to become one of England’s most prominent bowlers. In 2021, he was appointed Academy Director at Sussex Cricket.
Career
Yardy made his cricket debut in 1999 for Sussex. He stayed with the team until 2015, where he set the best bowling performance of his career. In 2009, he was made captain of the team and led them to win the Pro 40 and Twenty20 Cup titles.
He also represented England at the international level and competed in tournaments such as the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy, the 2010 World Twenty20, and the 2011 World Cup.
Following his retirement from cricket, he earned a psychology degree from Chichester University and pursued a coaching career, working with junior teams.
