Mel Brooks is an American comedian, screenwriter, composer, and film director notable for his works in comedy, mostly satirical and parodies. He co-created the 1961 comedy skit The 2000 Year Old Man (with Carl Reiner), where he would eventually be well-known for, and the television comedy Get Smart (with Buck Henry).
Film Director
Aside from his comedic prowess, Brooks is also a successful film director. Some of his most notable works include the comedy films: The Producers (1968), Blazing Saddles (1974), Silent Movie (1976), and Spaceballs (1987).
Trivia
He is one of the few people in the entertainment industry to have won an Academy Award, Emmy Award, Grammy Award, and a Tony Award.
