Meghan Markle is the Duchess of Sussex. She inherited this title when she married Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex in 2018. She was known primarily as a television actress until she became a member of the British Royal Family.
In a roundabout way, Meghan Markle’s reign actually began the first time she and Prince Harry made an ‘official’ public appearance together in September of 2017. For it was from that moment that she seriously began to be considered a member of the British Royal Family. But throughout their entire courtship, her popularity rose accordingly. For example, she holds the distinction of being the actress who was “googled” the most in 2016, despite the fact that during that time she was not featured in any major productions.
Duchess Meghan is a Patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Royal National Theatre and the Mayhew Animal Home, amongst others.

Meghan Markle was born in California, United States on the 4th of August, 1981. Her mother, Doria Ragland, was a social worker while her father, Thomas Markle Sr., worked in television.
In 2011, Markle got married to an actor named Trevor Engelson. They divorced in 2013 without any children resulting from their marriage. In 2016 (about three years after the demise of her marriage), she began dating Prince Harry. She eventually got engaged to Harry in 2017 and married him in 2018.

Markle made her debut as a professional actress in the hit American TV series General Hospital, where she briefly played the role of a nurse named Jill. She went on to star in several other major TV series and films, including the renowned legal drama television series, Suits.
In January 2018, Markle closed all her social media accounts and she also announced her retirement from acting, with the reason probably due to her association with the British Royal family.
On the 6th of March, 2018, as part of her preparation for her Royal wedding, Markle was baptized by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Meghan is also known by the nickname, “Flower”. This name was given to her by her mother (Doria) during her childhood days.
Meghan has a degree in communication from the Northwestern University. After her graduation, she was offered a job at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Meghan is older than her husband, Prince Harry. She is roughly three years older than him.
