About Maxfield Parrish
Maxfield Parrish has been credited for shaping modern visual arts in the United States. During his career which lasted for over five decades, the American artist produced close to one thousand works which included magazine covers and calendars.
His 1922 painting titled “Daybreak” is widely considered as his most popular work. Some of his other works were titled “Princess Parizade Bringing Home the Singing Tree from Arabian Nights” and “Ecstasy”.

This famous artist was also an illustrator. He worked on many books like L. Frank Baum’s “Mother Goose in Prose” and “A Wonder Book and Tanglewood Tales” which was published by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Personal Life
His initial name was Frederick Parrish, he was the son of Elizabeth Bancroft and the famous American painter Stephen Parrish. His wife Lydia Ambler Austin died in 1953.
Education
After completing Haverford School, he enrolled at Haverford College. He later moved to Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts before studying at Drexel Institute of Art, Science & Industry.

Norman Rockwell, an American painter, has described him as his idol.
