About Masaccio
The Italian, Masaccio, was a 14th-century Florentine painter who had a very short career due to his early death. He was among the first painters to use the point-projection perspective in their arts.
Masaccio was very skillful at recreating lifelike figures. He was also known for employing foreshortenings and naked pictures in his images.
In 1422, Masaccio joined the Arte de' Medici e Speziali. His artistic works include “The Expulsion from the Garden of Eden”, “The Tribute Money”, “Pisa Altarpiece”, “Holy Trinity”, and “Nativity”.
Family
He was born to Jacopa di Martinozzo and Giovanni di S. Cassai. He had a brother named Giovanni.

His actual name was Tommaso di Ser Giovanni di Simone.
Masaccio charged 80 florins for the “Pisa Altarpiece” work in 1426.
In 1422, he completed his first painting titled “San Giovenale Triptych”. In that same year, he finished his second artistic work named “Madonna with Child”.
Masaccio had inspiration from Masolino da Panicale, Donatello, Giotto and Filippo Brunelleschi.
He lost his father at the age of five.
