Through her work as a children’s book author, Mary Pope Osborne has been recognized for championing literacy in children. She began writing in the 1980s, publishing her first novel, “Run, Run As Fast As You Can” in 1982.
She has since become famous for being the author of the children’s book series, “Magic Tree House”, which she started in 1992.

Because of her father’s work in the military, she grew up in Virginia, Oklahoma and Salzburg, Austria. She has a twin brother named Bill, a sister, Natalie and a younger brother called Michael. She has been married to Will Osborne since 1976.
