Mark Sanchez

About Mark Sanchez

Mark Travis John Sanchez is a retired American football player. He spent ten seasons in the National Football League (NFL) as a quarterback for the New York Jets (he was selected in the 2009 draft). He also starred for the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, and Chicago Bears.

He played college football for four seasons with the USC Trojans of the University of Southern California.  

Family Life 

He was born to Olga and Nick Sanchez. He grew up in both Long Beach and Orange County in California. He and his two brothers were raised by their father after his parents got divorced. He is of Mexican ancestry. 

Achievements 

The Professional Football Writers Association named him as one of their All-Rookie Team members for the 2009 NFL season.  

Trivia 

Due to his Mexican heritage, he became a role model to the Latino community during his time with the USC Trojan team.
