About Mark Jackson
Between 1987 and 2004, Mark Jackson played in the NBA for numerous teams, including the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets. He later became a sports commentator and basketball coach.
Time in the NBA
In 1987, he was drafted by the Knicks, where he helped the team become regular playoff contenders. Jackson also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Indiana Pacers, Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz, and finally the Rockets, where he ended his professional career.
In 2011, he was appointed as head coach of the Golden State Warriors.
Awards
In 1988, he won Rookie of the Year and made an All-Star appearance the following year. Jackson is also largely credited for perfecting the “teardrop” shot.
Scandal
In 2012, Jackson was a target of an extortion plot on the basis of an extramarital affair he’d had years back. He reported the attempt to the FBI.
Family
He was married to Desiree Coleman for 27 years. The couple welcomed 4 children before their devorce in 2017.
