Two-time world champion, Mark Aguirre, has made an enviable mark in the world of basketball. From winning best athlete in college to winning All-star player for the Dallas Mavericks, the former NBA star has had a hugely successful career. He retired from professional basketball in 1994 and turned to coaching.

Mark was born in Chicago, Illinois. His love for basketball blossomed in high School and continued on to DePaul University where he played for the college team.
Personal Life
Young Mark tied the knot with his long-time sweetheart, Angela Bowman, in 1988. They went on to have one daughter.
The Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks chose the star athlete as the first overall pick during the 35th annual draft of the NBA. This marked the start of the basketball career of the 1.98m player. He was one of the Maverick’s distinguished players on the court in the 1980s.
Other Teams
After eight years at the Dallas Mavericks, Aguirre moved to Detroit Pistons, where he played from 1989 to 1993. From 1993 to 1994, he played for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Mark Aguirre is a two-time NBA champion – in 1989 and 1990.
He was also honored as the Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year in 1980. He was called into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
