About Marianne Faithfull
After dropping his first single in 1964 titled "As Tears Go By", Marianne Faithfull rose to become one of the most admired English singers of her time. She further released a number of hit singles which include "Come and Stay With Me", "Summer Nights" and "Go Away From My World".
Her maiden self-titled album was released in 1965. Her over 20 live and studio albums include “Easy Come, Easy Go”, “Kissin Time” and “20th Century Blues”.
Aside from music, she was also an actress and was hired to perform roles in lots of movies such as “Faces in the Crowd”, “Moondance” and “When Pigs Fly”. She also had the opportunity to appear in other stage plays including “The Collector”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Early Morning”.
Family
Her parents are called Eva and Major Robert Glynn Faithfull. She’s the step-sister of Simon Faithfull, an artist. She was married to Mick Jagger from 1966 to 1970 and has one child.
Achievements
During the Women's World Awards in 2009, she received the “World Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement”.
VH1 ranked her number 25 on their list of “100 Greatest Women of Rock and Roll”.
