Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is an Iranian politician. He served as the 6th President of Iran from 2005 to 2013. He was the leader of the Alliance of Builders of Islamic Iran and he eventually garnered 62% of the election votes, thus becoming President in August 2005.
He has been criticized for his economic policies and his disregard for human rights. He has also been criticized for his hostility towards Saudi Arabia, Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States. He is the first president of Iran to be summoned by the Islamic Consultative Assembly to answer questions regarding his presidency.

He is married to Azam Farahi and they have 3 children. He supports Iran's nuclear program and he has described homosexuality as "ugly".
