Between the 1910s to the 1930s, Macdonald Smith was regarded as one of the best golfers worldwide. Despite winning several events in the PGA Tour, he never won any major championship.
Life
Smith was born to a Scottish golfing family in Carnoustie in the United Kingdom. When he was 17, he moved to the United States to pursue a golfing career. He turned professional that same year and played alongside his brothers, Willie and Alex. Both his brothers won the US Open. Smith won 25 events but never won a championship.
Death & Legacy
Smith died in 1949 of a heart attack. He was posthumously inducted into the PGA Hall of Fame in 1954.
