Throughout his career, he has featured for teams like Sevilla, Ponte Preta, Sao Paulo, and Tianjin Quanjian. He also featured for the Brazil senior national team on many occasions.
According to the World Federation of Football History & Statistics, he is the second top scoring Brazilian of the twenty-first century as of July 2021.
