Originally called Luc Jean-Marie Robitaille and well known as Luc Robitaille is a leading figure in the National Hockey League (NHL). He is a retired Canadian hockey player and a Hockey Hall of Famer who played 19 seasons in the NHL. In April 2017, he was named the president of the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings.
Early Life & Junior Career
He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The hockey star played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for the Hull Olympiques from 1983 to 1986. His outstanding performances earned him the “CHL Player of the Year” in the 1985-86 season.
The Los Angeles Kings drafted him in round nine of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft as their 171st pick.
Professional Career Highlights
He had a 19-season career in the NHL, in which he played for the Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, and New York Rangers. He won the 2002 Stanley Cup with the Detroit Redwings. However, he is best known for his spells with the Los Angeles Kings, which spanned for 14 seasons. He also captained the Kings during the 1992-93 season.
He retired in 2006 and was the NHL’s “highest-scoring left-winger” in history.
Executive career
On April 10, 2017, He became the president of the Los Angeles Kings.
