About Louis-Ferdinand Céline
Louis-Ferdinand Céline was a polemicist, physician and writer from France. In his teens, Céline worked several jobs to make ends meet and acquire trading skills. Due to his frequent movement from one place to another, he was not able to pursue formal education at his youthful age.
Céline’s dream was to become a doctor and he was able to achieve that height in 1924. In 1940, he was employed as a doctor in one of the public clinics in Sartrouville. As a writer, he published several medical and educational articles and books including “Journey to the End of the Night” in 1934, “Ballets without Music, without Dancers, without Anything” in 1959, “Fable for Another Time” in 1952, “Conversations with Professor Y” in 1955 and “London Bridge: Guignol's Band II” in 1964.

He was educated at the University of Rennes and the University of Paris.
Family
He was born to Marguerite-Louise-Céline Guilloux and Fernand Destouches. He married three times. His first was to Suzanne Nebout, from 1915 to 1916, then to Édith Follet from 1919 to 1926. His third was to Lucette Destouches, from 1943 to 1961. He gave birth to a child named Colette Destouches.
Awards
He received the Certificat d'études in 1905.
