About Lou Pinella
Retired baseball star Lou Piniella won the World Series in 1977 and 1978 with the New York Yankees. He made his MLB debut in 1964 as a player of the Baltimore Orioles. During his sixteen seasons in the competition, the celebrated left fielder also played for the Kansas City Royals, and the Cleveland Indians.
Career as a Coach and Manager
Piniella began his coaching career in 1986 as a hitting coach for the Yankees. Four years later, he joined the Cincinnati Reds as the manager. He helped them to a World Series success in 1990. He has also worked with teams like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the Seattle Mariners, and the Chicago Cubs.
Broadcasting Career
The former baseball star has also found fame as a broadcaster. In 1989, he began working with MSG Network as the Yankees’ color analyst.
He has also been with other media organizations such as YES Network, and Fox Sports.

His three children with Anita Garcia are Kristi, Lou Jr., and Derek.
Education
He’s a graduate of the University of Tampa. This baseball icon has also studied at Tampa’s Jesuit High School.
Achievements
He won the American League’s “Rookie of the Year” award in 1969. In 2008, he received his third Manager of the Year accolade. He has also been inducted into the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame.
