About Lleyton Hewitt
Australian tennis star Lleyton Hewitt was 17 years old when he went professional. In his debut year (1998), he made a statement by winning the Next Generation Adelaide International, which was a tournament under the Association of Tennis Professionals. He rose to fame through his appearances at the US Open and Wimbledon in 2001 and 2002, respectively.
Family Life
He is the eldest child of Cherilyn and Glynn Hewitt. He is the elder brother of retired tennis coach Jaslyn Hewitt. His ex-fiancée is tennis player Kim Clijsters. He has been married to former “Home and Away” star Bec Cartwright with whom he has three children.
Achievements
He was the winner of the Men’s Singles tournaments of the 2001 US Open and the 2002 Wimbledon. In 2011, he received the Newcombe Medal’s “Spirit of Tennis Award”.
