Lil Tjay is an American musician who first started getting noticed in 2017, particularly with a song he posted on SoundCloud called “Resume” (2018). And since then, he has come out with hits such as “Leaked” (2018), “Brothers” (2018), “F.N” (2019) and “Pop Out” (2019) alongside Polo G.
He signed with Columbia Records in 2018.
Achievements
He won the Coast 2 Coast Live NYC All Ages Edition talent contest held in March of 2018.
His debut album, “True 2 Myself” (2019), peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200.
Trivia
He was regularly incarcerated as a youth and received a youth-detention center sentence for one year in 2016 at the age of 15. It was while he was serving this sentence that he began writing raps.
One of his nicknames is the Bronx Justin Bieber as a result of him sampling one of Justin Bieber’s tracks (“Baby”) onto one of his own songs (“None of Your Love”).
