Lil Phat was an American rapper. Born Melvin Vernell III, he started pursuing a music career at a very young age. He was signed to Trill Entertainment, at the young age of 14, in 2007.
He is known for his numerous appearances as a guest rapper on various singles by artists who were signed to Trill Entertainment. However, his most recognized work was on Webbie’s 2008 single, Independent.
Death
Melvin died in June 2012 after he was shot. The unfortunate incident occurred when he was waiting, outside the premises of Georgia’s Northside Hospital, for his daughter to be born.
Trivia
After his death, the songs Roadrunner and Been Threw So Much by Young Scooter, which he contributed to, were released.
