Montero Lamar Hill, who is well known by the stage name Lil Nas X is a famous American rapper and singer-songwriter. He rose to fame through his 2019 country rap song titled, “Old Town Road”.
Family Life
He grew up with his mother, Tamikia Hill and grandmother and later stayed with his father, Robert Stafford who was a gospel singer. He grew up with seven siblings; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
Achievements
His 2019 hit single, “Old Town Road” first became viral on the video-sharing app known as TikTok and later received a Diamond Certification. The song peaked at number one on the “US Billboard Hot 100” and stayed there for nineteen consecutive weeks, breaking the record since the charts began in 1958.
He received two nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards for categories including the award for Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Song and the American Music Award.
He was nominated six times at the 2019 Grammy Awards for awards such as Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Record of the Year.
His second single “Panini” (2019) reached number three on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 songs.
