Lil Mama is an American rapper, dancer, singer and actress whose debut solo album titled VYP (Voice of the Young People) came out in 2008. The album produced a number of popular singles includingLip Gloss and Shawty Get Loose (featuring T-Pain and Chris Brown). Away from her musical career, she is also known for being a judge on the dance reality TV series America's Best Dance Crew(ABDC) and playing the role of the late singer Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes in the 2013 television biographical film CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.

Her hit single Lip Gloss won her a Teen Choice Award in 2008. She won another Teen Choice Award the following year with her song Shawty Get Loose.
Trivia
Her mother, Tera, died in 2007 after battling with cancer for several years. She dedicated the music video of her song Shawty Get Loose to her late mother.
