Canadian tennis star, Leylah Fernandez came into the limelight in 2019 when she reached the finals of the girls' singles at the Australian Open. Later that year, she won the same category at the French Open, and went on to play her first professional match.
In July 2019, she won her first title as a professional player after beating Carson Branstine to clinch the Gatineau Challenger. Her breakthrough came two years later when she won the Monterrey Open, her maiden Women's Tennis Association Tour singles trophy.
