About Leon Panetta
Leon Panetta is most well-known for being the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency that oversaw Operation Neptune Spear, which resulted in the death of the al-Qaeda terrorist network’s leader, Osama bin Laden, in 2011. He also served as the Secretary of Defense under the Obama administration (2011 – 2013), Director of the Office of Management and Budget (1993 – 1994), and was a member of the United States House of Representatives (1977 – 1993).
Education
Panetta received his degree in Political Science at Santa Clara University, graduating in 1960. He would later receive his Juris Doctor at the School of Law of the same university in 1963.
