Hatami was born to Ali Hatami and Zahra Khoshkam. She later enrolled at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, where she studied mechanical engineering, which she changed to French Literature after 2 years.

Hatami made her debut in 1984 in her father's movie, "Kamalolmolk" and later landed her first lead role in the film "Leila" in 1997.
She also appeared in movies such as "The Deserted Station" in 2002 and "Portrait of a Lady Far Away" in 2005. The actress appeared in "The Last Step" in 2012 and "A man Without a Shadow" in 2019.

Hatami married Ali Mosaffa in 1999 and has 2 children as of 2021.
