Lee Kuan Yew was a Singaporean politician and statesman best known for being the first Prime Minister of Singapore, a position he held from 1959 to 1990. During his tenure as Prime Minister, he helped Singapore to leap from a developing country to one of the world’s most developed countries. He is considered his nation's founding father.
Personal Life
He was married to Kwa Geok Choo, with whom he fathered three children, including Lee Hsien Loong, who became the third Prime Minister of Singapore in 2004.
